VORON ZERO ONE BUILD
(EXTRACURRICULAR)

After owning a cheap and ageing 3D printer for a few years, I felt it was due for an upgrade. I set out to build something that could compete with industry-leading models, at a fraction of the price and with improved design flexibility.
I settled on a kit from LDO Motors of the popular Voron 0.1 with added components of my choice.
The result is a high-performance printer with a unique aesthetic. I learned a great deal about practical implementation from various disciplines, including but not limited to; mechanical, electrical and software engineering. The knowledge gained by assembling a 3D printer is critical to creating unique designs informed by the technology's limits and designing not only within the boundaries of the technology but veering right up to those limits. That way, novel methods and designs that are unique to the 3D printing approach can be explored.

Moving forward, this printer will be upgraded to the Voron 0.2r1, mainly due to quality-of-life upgrades and improved electronics cooling.
See Voron Zero GitHub for all changes.
